ooc:// XD Much. Thankies Z.
ic:// Fara was exploring around the Fire Village. The borders between Pegasi and humans were never very strict these day, no one group cared if the other decided to explore. As long as she wasn't doing anything harmful, Fara couldn't get in trouble. After all, she thought, her adopted father was the herd's own Messenger. If she was to follow in his footsteps, she needed to know all of the territory as best as possible.
The little filly was running circles around the village, her hooves rhythmically thumping on the hilly ground as she continued on. Her wings were halfway extended, bent over and flapping in the wind. She had considered flying, a top view of the village would look pretty cool. But no, she didn't want to freak out the humans too much. However, she was getting bored, and fast. What did people do around here, anyway?
With a snort, she slowed to a trot, and then to a walk from there. She bent down her head and took a few mouthfuls of grass, but stopped quickly. It was nowhere near as good as the Fire Herd's. She sighed loudly, looking around. What could be done now? Did she really have to go home already? If she did, she would probably be assigned thousands of chores from her father. He hated to see her bored, and would do anything to stop it, which usually meant she was stuck doing odd jobs around camp.
Fara almost jumped a foot in the air as a loud sound shattered the silence. She plodded forward until she was sheltered by a large bush and stuck her head over the top of it, widening her nostrils and pricking her ears as she scanned the territory in front of her. A Fire Village boy had just tripped over a huge pile of wood, screamed in pain, and was now attempting to put it back together. He looked unusually angry- at himself? For being so loud? Why would he need to be that irritated? Curious, Farenthia quieted her breathing.
She watched as the boy got up and ran, very ungracefully, out of camp. Where was he going in such a hurry? I could follow him.. she thought. I'd be quiet. After all, he can't be going anywhere illegal, can he? Quickly she folded her wings tightly to her body, inched out from behind her bush, and followed him, a safe distance away.

Matthew finally made it back to the place where he had seen the ice village girl, and slowed his pace so his footsteps were quiet again. What would he say if she was there? What if he made a fool of himself again? What if-
His thoughts where cut off when he barely heard something behind him, and he yanked the sword from it's sheath at his side and whipped around. The sword got slightly stuck on the edge of the sheath and he tugged on it a few more times before finally yanking it out and falling into a defensive position. Somebody was there... He heard it! He scanned the area, hoping that it wasn't a bear or anything. He was a good fighter, but not that good.

With a little 'eep' Fara ducked behind another bush as the FIre boy whipped around, sword in hand. It took him a couple of tries to get it out, but once he was ready he really did look a bit menacing. Just what was his deal, anyway? As far as she knew, everyone was allowed at Crystal Pond. Why was he so... freaked out? Maybe it was just because she was following him, but somehow she doubted that.
Fara was uncomfortable squished behind the bush, but she wasn't about to make any noise shifting her position. She'd have to hope for the best-- that the Fire boy would think his ears were deceiving him and continue on. Then she'd follow him again, of course, but probably from farther away.
Lena looked up as she heard commotion over by the Fire Herd and Village side of Crystal Pond. Thoughts started racing through her head- what if it wasn't Matt? What if it was just a human or a pegasus who wanted nothing to do with an Ice Village girl? Her plan was sounding dumber to her by the minute. Sighing at herself, she lowered her position and slunk forwards, hiding behind a large tree. If it was Matt, that would be just great, but if not... she could just pretend she was gathering berries or something. That would make her look smart. She stole a glance at some red ones in a bush nearby. She had no idea whether they were poisonous or not.

Matt sat in complete silence for at least three minutes before standing up straight again. He stood with his sword down in his hand in a less defensive position for another moment before sheathing it again and stepping quietly forwards. He made sure to make less noise this time, hoping that it was just the echoes of his footsteps that were making him think somebody was following him. Every few moments he had to glance over his shoulder, but he never saw anything.
Matthew made it to the last short stretch to the Crystal Pond and hesitated. How big of a moron was he to come here? Anybody could be here, from any village or herd, and he would be some random Fire Village idiot with sword wandering around with no excuse what-so-ever. He peaked out from behind a large tree, and saw a swish of movement coming from the ice side of the pond, and ducked back behind it. He glanced out more sublely this time, seeing a tall ice village girl... It... it was Lena!

Lena was so busy spying from behind her tree that she completely forgot to check the other side to see if anyone was approaching from that side. When the thought came to her, she was completely calm and unaware that anyone was even there yet, Fire Village, Ice Village, anyone. So, when she did turn around to scan the other side, she jumped when she saw Matt hiding there, sort of behind a tree on the other side. Her arms slammed into the tree with such force that she grimaced before sliding to the ground, her long legs folding up as she contacted with the ground. Crunch.
"Matt," she was able to whisper, reaching out her hand and waving her long fingers at him. She could clearly see him now that he saw here and wasn't trying to hide behind HIS tree anymore. Her plan actually worked! Lena couldn't believe it. She blinked twice, but Matt was still there. No hallucinations.
Fara hadn't moved from her bush after almost being spotted by Matt. He hadn't gone too far, anyway, and she had good vision. NOW what was he doing? Hiding? But now he was hiding AND talking with someone else. An Ice Village girl? Confusion was the little filly's main emotion.

Matt finally closed his slack-jawed mouth and glanced over his shoulder again, to see if somebody was still following him, but he didn't see anybody. He turned back to Lena. "You're... you're here..." he whispered quietly, probably barely audible to Lena, none the less anybody else in the area. "I didn't actually think you'd... you'd be here, Lena..." he stuttered, staring at her.
He finally realized he was still half way behind the tree, and stepped out so he was on the other side of it... Hopefully out of view to anybody that was following him... Wait... he thought. Of course nobody's followed me! He tried to shake the feeling of being followed, and focused on Lena. "I can't beleive you're here too...!" he whispered, still surprised.

Looking around, Lena sighed. If there was someone here, they should have stepped out by now. She was sick of hiding. With quick, graceful steps she abandoned her tree and made her way to Matt. "Wow.." she murmured, shaking her head in disbelief. Her eyes sparkled. "I can't believe that actually worked.. it's the first time I've been here since.. well.. since the water. And it looks like for you, too," she stammered. "How weird that both of us ended up here at the same time."
The whole situation was beginning to get a little too weird for Fara to handle quietly. With a flourish she jumped out from behind her bush and ran forward, flaring her wings at Matt and Lena. "Heyheyheyhey!" she snorted, shaking her head. "What are you humans DOING?"
Lena blinked in surprise, stepping back. Though Fara was just a filly, she was a pegasus, and was somewhat big and intimidating looking. The Ice Village girl had no idea how close a relationship the Fire Villagers shared with the Fire Herd, but if it was anything like the Ice side of the forest, this pegasus probably didn't even know Matt's name, unless she was his connection. Having never really seen a pegasus up close before, Lena was sort of.. scared, was the only way to put it. That, and they'd just been discovered! They were lucky that this was just a young equine.

Matt nodded awkwardly to what Lena was saying, still in a bit of shock as to what was happening. She was here... again! When he heard a sudden rustling as shouting behind him, he flipped around, drawing his sword unusually quickly and raising it defensively in front of himself. When he saw that it was just one of the fire herd's pegasi, he lowered it with a continued shocked look on his face. "Oh, we're uh... we just... ran into each other here before," he stuttered. He realized his sword was still in his annd, and he quickly sheathed it.

Fara flattened her ears and took a step back. He was on edge, she could tell... but why? Maybe it was because she had jumped out on them. Nah, it couldn't be that. Her father went on runs to the Fire Herd Village all the time, and he never told any horror stories of scared humans fleeing from him. She wasn't as big as him, either. Or as big as the Ice Herd leader. She heard he was a giant. However, Lena did look a little intimidated of her at the moment.
Lena looked from Matt to Fara. Obviously he didn't know her that well... was that a good thing or a bad thing? She decided to let them talk, figure things out. Matt was smart, from what she had seen him figure his way out of so far, so she decided the best thing for her to do was to be silent.
Fara folded her wings against her body and looked back to Matt. "Okay..." she neighed softly (I almost typed mewed XDD). "I just thought it was sort of weird that.. you know, you know each other.. because, you know, about the... you're from.. the.. different villages.." she stuttered, still looking at the ground.

Matt stared blankly at Fara for a moment, then glanced back at Lena. He then seriously hoped his lying skills weren't as bad as he thought. "Oh, um... I don't really know her," he said, trying to keep his voice steady. "I just... We just ran into each other here before when I was out hunting... We just talked a little bit and... we were on our own ways..." his voice cracked at the last word, and he cleared his throat and looked down. He shot a glance at Lena, hoping that she knew how to lie relatively well, too... or at least act well.

Fara blinked. Were all humans this weird? She hoped not, if she had to interact with them throughout her life. Maybe he wasn't used to the Harmoni language, she realized. She was fluent in it, being taught by her adopted father at a very young age, but maybe it was different for the humans. However, she was so flustered she almost forgot to use it as she started to talk to them again. Almost.
"Uh.. okay.. sorry.." she said, unsure of where the conversation would go now. "I guess.. I guess I'll just be on my way now." She turned and started walking away.
Lena let out her breath, widening her eyes at Matt. 'That was close,' she mouthed at him. She watched Fara leave and was just about to move when she turned back.
"Oh.. uh.. Fire Village boy? Do you know when we find our connections? Because.. I never really got that.." the young filly murmured.

Matt nodded quickly when Lena mouthed that that was a close call, and jumped when he heard the young pegasus's voice again. "Oh... um... I don't know. I haven't gotten my connection yet either..." he muttered, honestly unsure. Azuro hadn't told him anything about it, and he hadn't thought about it much. "We'll probably get it eventually, though." He shrugged, and shot a glance at Lena. "When does the Ice Village get them...?" he asked, trying to be casual.

Lena merely shrugged, hoping the young pegasus would get over her curiosity and leave already. This had worked out perfectly, and she wasn't about to let it be ruined by a little Fire Herd filly.
Fara nodded and turned. "Something's up with you two... don't think I'm that oblivious." Lifting her head, she ran forward, leaping into the sky and flapping her wings until she was just a speck in the air.
Lena let out her breath. "That was close.." she mumbled.
ooc:// STUPIDLY SHORT post. I'm sorry, Z.. but I'm getting a little braindead on the Lena/Matt manner right now. XD
