Matt's breathing faltered when Lena pulled her bow on him, and became rather staggered. He knew she was just acting, but to have a lethal weapon pointed at his face, along with a second one pointed at him, it made him extremely nervous. He gulped, then glanced from Lena to... Vince? "I... I was just..." his voice faltered. Drat. He left his sword at the village. He didn't dare move, though; Lena lowered her weapon, but Vince had kept his knocked and ready to fire.
Vincent glanced at Lena, though kept his arrow pointed at the fire village boy. Neutral land...? Had they gotten a neutral land and not told him? He glared at the fire boy again. "Perhaps, but what is he doing with you?" he asked. "Did he catch you off guard? Jump you? Force... something out of you? Take something from you?" His imagination went a bit to the gutters then, but he brought it back and held his bow steady, taking a few steps closer.
Matthew's breathing was still staggered when Vince took a few steps forwards. "I didn't do anything!" he said loudly, panicing. I'm going to die! a thought shot through his head, though he pushed it aside. He glanced at Lena very quickly then back at Vince, hoping that she would come up with something that would make him lower his bow. Even with the kid's ungracefulness and... was that a welt on his forehead?- he still looked lethal with a bow and arrow. He was tall, too, very tall... And his bow matched his height in length, probably making the arrow fly farther... faster... harder...

Lena fought to keep her expression calm, but inside her thoughts were racing. Something that had happened to Vincent had made him angry- probably the same thing that caused his forehead injury. Boys were like that.. such little things could make their moods swing. This mood swing was potentially life threatening for Matt, though. She needed to think of something, and fast.
Using her best acting skills, she stepped back so that she was a little behind Vincent and put on a confused front. "No, no..." she trailed off, trying not to speak too quickly or too desperately. Suddenly an idea lit up her head, and she had to fight from smiling in triumph. "He was just.. at the wrong place at the wrong time.. I was hunting, and wasn't paying attention exactly to the borders.. I thought he was on our territory. So.. I.. tackled him." Even though it wasn't true, the idea spread a blush across her face. Perfect. That would just add to the story, wouldn't it? "So he fell in the water. I had to help him out and apologize."

Vincent hesitated, turning from the fire village boy, to Lena, then back again. He finally faltered, then lowered his bow, pointing it at the ground. He kept it drawn, though, and he just stared at Matt. After a few awkward moments of silence, he pulled the arrow back out and attempted to slip it back into the quiver. He missed, though, scraping the tip against his back. He made a strange face, but otherwise hit the sudden pain that shot through his shoulder. He felt his face flush again and he shoved the arrow back into his quiver.
Matt shot a thankful glance at Lena, then turned back to Vincent. Just that moment he remembered that his clothes were soaked, and was even more thankful that Lena didn't forget. He tipped his head to the side when Vincent almost winced, but tried to think nothing of it. If he said anything he'd probably draw his weapon on him again. "Um... I'm sorry. I was just trying to get away from camp for a while and I must have wandered farther than I thought." He tried to make his voice sound innocent, and continued to stare at the ground while he did so, to look ashamed of himself.

Lena's heart leaped. Her plan had worked! That had been a close call. Now what? She looked curiously at Vincent as his expression changed. Had he just speared himself? Strange.. distracted, she stood still for a few more seconds before she realized that she had to say something soon. Vincent had calmed down, Matt was okay, but they were still in the middle of the forest, doing nothing. Someone was bound to get even more suspicious soon if she let this go any farther.
"Well.. I guess we'd better get back, huh Vincent," she said bluntly. "Make sure you pay attention to borders from now on, fire boy." Her acting skills were so good, she scared herself, and it took all of her control not to burst into tears on the spot. She hated being mean, especially to him. Why did she feel this way about a fire village boy? Fate, she told herself. Fate can be strange. She would give anything for him to have been born in the Ice Village, or her in the Fire Village. We can work something out.. she thought to herself. We will meet again.
She glanced at Matt once more, hoping that he could decipher the look she was giving him. They had to find each other again. They couldn't just go on living as if nothing had changed. Closing her eyes, she turned away and fled back towards Ice territory, leaving Matt and Vince alone.

Vincent watched as Lena snapped at the Fire Village member, and then turned to return to the village. He turned to glare at him again, still feeling that something else happened in this clearing that he didn't know about... Or, maybe it was just him. He lifted his bow to him again, though no arrow in hand, and said, "If any of us see you on our land again, I'm not waiting for anybody to jump to be your savior." He actually sounded threatening, cool! He lowered his bow again, then started to run after Lena. Ha. Run. That was a dumb idea. He managed to trip over a branch that was at his feet. He heaved himself back into an upright position, and his face burned red not only from anger, but from utter embarassment. "Don't... say... a word..." he said as he stormed off.
Matthew finally let his breath go as Vince walked away. His heart almost stopped again when Lena had snapped at him, but after that last glance she gave him, he knew that it wasn't for real. Dang, she was a good actress. He finally pushed himself to his feet- he was still backed into a tree with utter fear of having two arrows pointed at him- and glanced around. It didn't seem as though anyone was around. He sighed with releif. Nobody from the fire village seemed to have noticed that he was here, so he wouldn't worry about anyone coming for no apparent reason. He pulled something from his pocket, a small, half heart pendant. He felt for the other half around his neck, before placing it over a small twig coming off of a nearby tree. He assumed Lena would find it... They would probably meet here again. His mother told him to give it to the one girl that he knew he would love forever, and so he would. He pressed one hand against it, then one against his own, then started off back towards the Fire Village.

TIME SKIP- YAY!
ic;// Lena plowed through the forest, but she barely made a sound. She held her soft leather moccasins in her hand, and her bare feet expertly dodged sharp twigs and larger rocks. Her eyes were half closed in pleasure- the weather of her home meant that she almost never had a chance to take off her shoes. She wasn't complaining, of course- she loved the cold. The snow. The ice. Everything about the Ice Village made her happy. It was just nice to get out in the sun once in a while, that was all, she told herself.
However, that was not the reason she was here, back again at Crystal Pond. That was not the reason she had lied to her family, told them that she was going to go hunting and bring back lots of food for them all. The bow and quiver filled with arrows mounted on her back seemed to burn through her, evidence of her lie that had squeezed its way out through her teeth. Though she was terrible at deceiving people, especially her family, they hadn't looked twice as she had left camp.
Though she felt horrible about the whole situation, excitement made her heart pound irregularly as she ran. She was looking for Matt, again. She hoped he was okay, after the whole incident with Vince about a week ago. She had had no way to contact him, and hoped that he would be here, too.
A sudden thought made her slow. What in the WORLD was she going to talk with him about? There was no way she wanted to feel stupid, not in front of that fire village boy.
ooc:// If you have Matt leave noisily, Fara'll hear it. XD

((ooc:// Edited... XD)) Matt was stepping awkwardly lightly across the packed down ground, trying to get out of the village without having to make up an excuse. His feet barely made a sound- his light weight contributed to that- and he had almost made it to the village entrance when he felt his foot hook on something on the ground, though he wasn't sure. He gasped loudly, flapping his arms to try to catch his balance, but ended up crashing face first into a pile of nicely stacked wood. After attempting to stifle shouts of pain as he covered his face with his hands, he realised that the nice pile of wood had noisily scattered in all directions. "Crap!" he said quietly, as if people hadn't heard him and woke up anyways. He quickly picked the wood up and tried to stack it back into place, though he was fumbling in a hurry, causing it to fall back down onto his feet. He was cursing silently to himself almost the whole time, trying to get the wood stacked, before he finally gave up and pushed the wood to the same general area. He took a quick glance over both shoulders to see if anyone was watching him, and he took off running out of the village. ((ooc:// Better?))
