A large black raven floated through the air, his black wings matching the night sky. The air seemed to be guiding him to a dark and eerie castle, placed at the top of a jagged hill that looked as if it was carved with giant, clumsy bear claws.
Perching on the windowsill of the Gothic castle, he looked around for his master. The castle had been one of a great lord feared by the humans, and the current master wanted to instill that fear over all of Transylvania.
"My lord," the raved croaked, bowing.
A beast of a wolf staggered its way to where the raven stood, his blood red eyes gleaming with hatred. His ragged black pelt lay in odd places on his body, and revealed purple scars that crossed like lightning bolts. "This better be good."
The raven quorked in fear; he immediatley clamped his beak shut. The master was so revolting...but so powerful. Bowing once more, he said, "Lord Mustaphar, we have news...about the Prophecy."
The wolf's blood red eyes gleamed. "Tell me more, Kaa."
Kaa beamed with pride, as he should; he was Lord Mustaphars most trusted messenger. "They will be born in the Red Forest, I believe, but not all of them will be wolves."
Mustaphar backed away from the raven and looked out his window, looking out to the beautiful land of the Red Forest, the land that he was born in but was not his. "You will bring them to me, Kaa. If the prophecy is true...they are the only creatures that can restore balance to nature."
Kaa crowed. "But my Lord, you are the most powerful creature in all your land, other than Khazan-"
Mustaphar snarled with rage, and snatched Kaa from his perch. His eyes glew with a murderous light, as if the only thing he wanted was to rip the raven apart. "I told you never to mention his name!"
Mustaphar let Kaa go, but the raven was trembling with fear of how close he was to dying. "My lord, I apologize-"
A laugh escaped Mustaphars jaws, the laugh of someone driven by insanity. "Khazan was the one who trained me! He is an old wolf. I am more powerful than that...mutt!"
Kaa quorked again. "Indeed you are, My Lord-"
Mustaphar rounded once again on Kaa, so his blood red eyes burned into the raven's beady black ones. "Enough of your foolish sucking up to me."
Mustaphar placed his black paws on the windowsill of the castle. "Soon...the Red Forest...and the race of Men...will be under my control."
