ooc:// they just look... so... ahh... perfect? ^^
ic:// Aimee felt a little encouraged by the fact that she wasn't doing too much worse than Vincent, but she felt more discouraged. If he couldn't do it, how could she?! "Try..." She closed her mouth quickly, the words already sounding weird and distorted in her brain. She pretended that she hadn't spoken, and concentrated on the icy ground. "Try..." she repeated again. "Um, what if you used straight snow?" She bent over slowly and used her bare hands to scoop up a ball of fresh white snow from the ground. As she rose, she rolled it into a smoother ball, and she started willing it to freeze. Something more substantial, she hoped, might be able to stay for longer.

((ooc://Alrighty then.))
Vincent stared blankly at her for a moment, glancing at the snow that she was holding. "It might work better... since it wasn't created by magic..." he said. He picked up his own peice of snow and rolled it, feeling it harden in his hands. After his fingers went numb from the snow, he stood with it dumbly in his hands. He was just going to stick it onto the end of his arrow and shoot it? Feeling stupid, he stuck the snowball to the end of his arrow, feeling the weight of it pull the tip down. He knocked it, pulled the string back, and shot it off. The arrow hit the tree a few inches lower than he was aiming, but he was dumbfounded to see that the snowball was still in-tact when it hit the tree. "Wow," he said blankly, staring at it. The ice eventually became snow again, and slipped from the tip of the arrow, revealing cracked bark underneath it. "It worked!"

Dropping her own iceball so that her hands wouldn't freeze, Aimee stood back to let Vincent do the work. She watched in fascination and blushed as the ice hit the tree solid. "Yeah," she responded, a little embarrassed, a tiny bit proud. "But what real damage would that do to a person? She tried to imagine having a snowball thudded into her chest along with an arrow. "Wouldn't it just blunt the tip of the arrow and only cause bad bruising?"

"Hmm..." Vincent said, staring down at the snow for a moment. He picked up another snowball, packing it in, then began to shape it more into a point. "If we make it sharp enough, maybe," he started, as he stuck it onto the arrow. "It would be like the ice we were using, but we don't have to keep it focused as much..." He willed the snow to freeze into a point, then drew the string back, and shot it at the tree. He aimed a bit higher than he would normally, adjusting to the ice's weight. The arrow slammed into the tree right in the middle of the circle of arrows he had made, the hardened ice shunking into the side of the tree.

"I see," Aimee replied dubiously. She doubted how much damage a piece of ice- as sharp as it may be- could do, but she had never been stabbed by an ice sword either, so she decided not to voice her concern. Her eyes followed the arrow's arching trail across to the tree, and she watched Vincent's movements, intending to try it herself. "Keep going," she said suddenly, "I'm going to get my bow." She ran off lightly, heading towards the village.

Vincent watched in silence as Aimee started off towards the village gracefully, and felt a flash of jealousy. He couldn't run more than a hundred feet without tripping. He sighed, and glanced at his almost empty quivver, and decided to start pulling out the arrows to use them again. He pulled them out of the tree, revealing gashes and holes in the side of the trunk as he did so. He wandered around, trying not to trip over his own feet, picking up the arrows that had missed and stuck into the icy ground to put them back.
When he beleived he had most of his arrows back, he walked ungracefully over to his starting point and scooped up snow, packing it hard into a point, and hardening it with ice magic. He aimed carefully, higher than normal again, and shot it off, letting it hit the side of the tree with a hard thunk again.

A few minutes later, Aimee returned, a much smaller bow than Vincent's in her hand and a quiver full of thin arrows slung hastily over her shoulder. She crept into the clearing once more, in time to watch him use the magic on the snow. She pulled an arrow from her quver, and still silently, strung it up to her bow, and then tried to pick up snow. She succeeded in crashing straight to the ground, and the arrow fell off the bow and broke with a loud crrrack. "Oops," she muttered. "Wait, you put the snow on before you string the bow?" She shook her head in confusion, feeling stupid for missing the obvious.

Vincent jumped as he heard the loud crack, whipping around with a knocked arrow in his bow again, only to lower it. "S-seriously!" he shouted, not finishing his sentence. When she asked about his order of doing things, he looked awkwardly at his bow. "Oh, uhm... I... It's easier to get the snow on before you string it..." he stuttered. He scooped up another snowball, shaping it into a point and putting it on the arrowtip. "If you try to do it afterwards..." he signaled unsubtley towards her bow and snapped arrow on the ground.

ooc:// *laughs*
ic:// Aimee let out a bell of embarrassed laughter. "Yeah, I guess I should have figured that." She bent over and picked up the arrow. Gently, she stroked the broken wood, and edged the splinters back into place. She wedged a splinter accidentally into her hand, and yelped. "Okay, one arrow down," she laughed. She turned around in a full circle, and spotted a small group of three trees, the opposite direction of Vincent. Aimee scooped a ball of snow and strung the arrow successfully this time, and she aimed for the group of three trees. The arrow hit one of the edge ones about an inch from the ground, and vibrated there for a moment. She ran over to see if the ice was still there. It wasn't. "Oh," she said to no one in particular. "I forgot to use magic."

Vincent watched as Aimee scrambled to get her bow and arrow together, and leaned up against a tree when she ran to go get it. When she realised that she forgot to freeze it, he couldn't help but laugh at her. It sounded more like something he'd do... When he finally got his bearings back from laughing, he looked up, red faced from laughing too hard. "You... you forgot to freeze it...?" he asked, trying to keep from cracking up again. He finally took a deep breath and sat down against the tree. "I suppose it could be worse," he mused. "You could have dropped and broken your arrow..." he glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, grinning again. It felt strange, teasing somebody else for a change... People normally made fun of him... and laughed at him... and they were dead serious about it. He cleared his throat awkwardly. "So um... yeah..." There was an akward silence, and he coughed to clear it. His face went red, and he looked down at his feet.

ooc:// You replied too quickly! ic:// Hearing the sudden laughter from Vincent, Aimee turned towards him, intending to growl, but his laughter was contagious, and she found herself smiling. She didn't want to laugh, for she was a little offended, so she ended up shaking in silent laughter. Still on her knees from checking the arrow, she fell over and onto the cold ground. When he stopped laughing and teased her about her broken arrow, she let out a loud cackle that came from too much contained laughter. Feeling sore from laughing too hard, she lay on the ground staring at the sky, and laughed. ooc:// I forgot how to spell ground, so I had to look it up. Sad days. Now I am laughing because laughter is contagious.

((ooc:// Oh no... NOT ME TOO! XD))
Vincent had almost completely stopped laughing, but when Aimee started up too, no matter how hard she tried not to, he started back up again. He was leaned up against the tree, and he was glad, too, otherwise he probably would be keeled over with laughter by now. They were probably disturbing all of the nature in the general visinity, but he didn't really care. It was great to laugh for once. "Oh god..." he uttered, still trying to stop. "St...stop laughing! Y-you're making me l-laugh harder!" he said, between cracks of laughter.

The ground was cold, Aimee realized with a start, and she suddenly found the restraint of laughter to leap to her feet. She thought of what she had just done, and started laughing more. "The ground is cold," she stammered between peals of laughter. ooc:// This could take a while. Once, I spent all afternoon laughing, because at lunch, I was thinking about how Harry Potter says 'Brilliant!' and I realized that bread, broccoli, and brilliant start with 'br,' and then I thought of, "Would you like some bread with your brilliant brown broccoli?" and I started laughing hysterically, and it took me 20 minutes to be able to calm down enough to tell my friend what I was laughing at... that was a silly afternoon:D

Vincent cracked up laughing again. "Oh wow..." he said, after a short moment of laughing. "It's snow, Aimee!" he said in a joking matter-of-fact way. He then took a scoop of a snowball, rolled it up, and threw it straight at her. "It's supposed to be cold!" He then dropped his quiver and bow on the ground, and dove behind the tree he was leaning against for cover.
((ooc:// That happened to a friend and I once during p.e. large group... They were giving a speech on something, and I can't even remember what he said, but he all of a sudden could NOT stop laughing, and he couldn't tell me why for half of the class... And of course, by then, I had cracked up laughing, and the guy on the other side of him started laughing, and we had to keep quiet enough so that we wouldn't get in trouble with the teachers. We had finally almost quieted down, until a screen came up on the overhead that said, "Sometimes, you just need to hang out with some friends and laugh, and by the end of it you won't even know what you're laughing about..." Then we all cracked up again. XD I then got started up again during lunch when somebody said somethign stupid... Oh jeez. XD Laughter is contagious.))

The snowball caught Aimee directly in the mouth. "Mmmf!" she cried. "Ahmmaff!" She wiped her mouth, and shivered as she accidentally swallowed a bit. "Ugh!" She staggered to the ground and made two snow balls, one for each hand, and chased Vincent behind the tree. "You're going down!" ooc:// "If you fall, a friend will help you up, but a best friend will laugh at you." Laughter hurts:D ((this ooc is smaller than the ic:) ))
