Dear Friends & Colleagues,

I was horrified and shocked to see the article in the Daily Voice
yesterday about Tammy, a dog that had been burnt so badly by her owners.

The owners wanted to punish her for jumping over the wall into the
neighbours place. They fetched her and put her in her kennel and set it
alight.

I am not sure how many of you have seen the pictures. As an animal lover
it brought tears to my eyes because she was burnt so badly. The SPCA had
to put her down.

The SPCA have removed the other 2 dogs from these people and are pressing
criminal charges against them. I am therefore appealing to all animal
lovers to please add your name to the petition so that the owners are
given the maximum punishment befitting to them.

I have spoken with the Daily Voice, and we have an agreement that they
will forward the signatures to the SPCA to use in the prosecution of these
people. PLEASE, if you agree, please sign the petition and forward to as
many contacts as possible.

Every 500 signatures, please return to me: [e-mail]

This will then be forwarded to the Daily Voice who in turn will forward it
to the SPCA.

Do you ever think about how the democratic and republican political parties form, or how the United States manage to keep peace with many other countries? The first president of the United States, George Washington, undertook a huge task in becoming the first president, and his wisdom helped America through its first few years. His final words of advice were to avoid political differences, although the American citizens did not pay much attention to this advice. The American public received his second piece of advice more willingly, advice about foreign policy.
Washington believed that political differences could weaken the whole country. When he was elected, there were no political parties, and the election was very informal compared to the elections of today. In his farewell address, he shared his beliefs with the citizens by advising them that these differences could weaken the nation. He was already aware of the differences of belief from Jefferson and Madison to that of Hamilton.
The second piece of advice that Washington gave was about foreign policy. He warned the Americans that an alliance with a foreign nation could work against the United States government. He said that it was better for America to remain neutral. He wanted relationships with other the governments of the other countries to remain positive.
American public only listened to half of Washington’s advice. Unlike he advised, almost immediately, they had formed two political parties- the Federalists and the Democratic-Republicans. As he had feared, Hamilton was on one side, while Madison and Jefferson were on the other. Thankfully to Washington, his advice about foreign policy was listened too.
Washington was a very influential man, so it is not surprising that his advice about foreign policy was taken. Still, many people did not agree with his advice about political parties, or maybe they were all to set in their Federalist or Democratic-Republican ways.
Do you think that the American government today would be different if the United States citizens of Washington’s day had listened to his first piece of advice and not his second?

Found that while looking for another pic for the layout... I love my layout! It's so easy to change! :-) I'm gonna make a dictionary... thanks Kevin for the idea and put in words like Haloha and Triskadak and normal words like triskaidekaphobia :-D

Hopefully, I can use a wiki... *waits for apps to install*
