It's the year 2009. Human technology has advanced over the past years, and will keep advancing faster than ever before. That's not a big surprise- at least, not to normal people living in every day conditions in every day cities. People with jobs, with homes, with families. People without certain... specialties to them.
However, the people of the Fire and Ice Villages, not to mention the Fire and Ice Herd Pegasi, are oblivious to this change of pace. They live, basically, like animals, fending for themselves out in the Forest of Elements. Though the Forest is magical, it doesn't make much of a difference to the lifestyles of everyone who lives there.
However much change is happening, the people and Pegasi are perfectly content with the way they are. The humans don't know they're there, for the people and Pegasi stay out of sight. That's fine with them, for thousands of years they have raised their families in peace, away from the rest of the world.
Now, that is changing.
A Messenger from one of the Herds is the first to notice this. While they're out on their regular rounds, they happen to notice some movement. Thinking of it as nothing but a village person, fishing or practicing their battle moves, the Pegasus steps forward to take a look in between the branches.
It's a human. Not a Village person, but an everyday human. He looks confused, and is peering right back at the Pegasus with an odd expression on his face. In his hand is an instrument- which the Pegasus can't make out. No one, in fact, in the forest knows what it is. It's a cattle prod.
The human takes a step forward, and, terrified, the Messenger turns tail and flees. He makes his way back to his herd, and fast as lightning, gossip spreads. Have the humans finally found them? What are they going to do now, and why? What's wrong with leaving them in peace?
Soon more humans start invading the forest, and humans and Pegasi from both sides are disappearing left and right. What will the humans do if they find out everything about the forest and its inhabitants? Will the Fire and Ice Herd and Villages be no more?
