Whirling up a drink (Haley x OPEN)

[Lia]

The machine beeped slightly, indicating that Liam's drink was ready. "Did the dog want something?" she asked, grabbing the cup and the bottle. She walked around the counter, and nearly tripped over as Liam came scampering up.
"COFFEE!" he screeched, bouncing some more. He leaped up onto the bar in front of David.
Haley snickered, starting to get used to the constant presence of animals. She took the seat next to David, and placed the water in front of him.
Before she could give Liam the drink, he had snatched it from her, and was glugging it down his throat at record speed.
Haley laughed, and started spinning on her spinny seat.

Jackson grinned, barking, "Graaaw!!! Awoof rooooo rooo rooo raaaaaawwwwwoooooo." Which roughly translates as, "No thanks, I'm entertained by the caffinated monkey-thing as it is."
David smiled again, looking up at Liam.

Liam cast a nasty glance at Jackson. He was entertaining? He put the cup down on Jackson's head, and started to feel the effects of the caffeine... "WAHOO!!!" he shrieked, jumping up and whacking his head on the roof, ricocheting off, and bouncing all around the room.

"Is caffeine safe for him?" Haley giggled nervously.

David looked at Liam.
"Well...I'm not exactly sure. I've never given him caffiene before..." he said. "But...what's the worst that could happen?"

Jackson shook the cup off his head angrily.

[Lia]

"GAAAAA BOOZA BOOZA!!!" Liam shrieked, in cryptic Lemurese. He continued to ricochet off the walls.

"He can murder an innocent person?" Haley laughed. "Wow..." Her eyes followed Liam around the room.

Liam landed in his empty cup. "Hey, dog-breath, you left your hat! HAT HAT HAT HAHAHA!"

Feeling a little left out, Lucy pouted heavily and said, rather loudly, "I'm allergic to apples, you know."

Haley stood up immediately, making her chair spin around a thousand miles an hour. She rushed over to Lucy, in manager mode. "Oh no!" she gasped. "Does your drink have apple in it?"

[Shadow]

Adira, surprised by the sudden explosion of action around her, fingered her belt at her side. No dagger, she thought, before realizing, oh yeah, no weapons allowed here. Snarling quietly to herself, she glanced over her shoulder at Haley. The manager was distracted, and fortunately, so was crush-boy. He was still serving her, probably making her drink as perfect as he could get it.

She's distracted.. Adira thought before pushing her way quickly back out the door and scooping up Steve, letting him slither back onto her shoulders.

"Looks like you're having tonsss of fun in there," he chuckled.

Adira rolled her eyes. "Just keep quiet and Haley won't mind. They're really busy all of a sudden." Giving one last longing look at her trusty dagger, she entered the shop again, striding forward to pick up her finished drink. "Thanks," she muttered quickly, shooting a quick smile at the waiter, "Billy."

Sipping her drink, she eyed the increasing group by the window. They had probably forgotten about her, and were focused on a lemur that seemed to be high on something. Caffeine, perhaps?

"Whatever he has? I want some," Steve whispered in her ear, making her jump.

"No," she snapped, walking towards the table. "Not in a million years. Hi," she added, smiling a tight lipped smile at the group, which was gaping at her now. She probably looked like she was talking to herself, for Steve was hidden mostly in her hair, which was out of its usual ponytail and splayed around her shoulders.

Lucy shook her head, "Uh, no. I was just mentioning it," she said.
She looked up at the crazy girl who had just walked over, who seemed to be talking to herself...out loud.

David smiled. "You have a point..."
Jackson was about to say something witty, but smelled out a snake in the Starbucks. Instinct came back to him. There was a DEADLY SNAKE in a humans head! He had to protect her!
"GARAFF!!!" Jackson growled, which roughly translates as, "DON'T WORRY, HUMAN! I'LL SAVE YOU!!!", pouncing on the back of Adira's head, trying to get rid of the snake, toppling her over.
David looked as if all the color had left him, as he rushed over to grab hold of Jackson. "Jackson! Jackson!"
Tom snapped, and he walked over to the dog and grabbed him fiercley by his collar. Flinging him on the ground with superhuman strength, he yelled at David, "You need to watch your dog! That BEAST just attacked a person! I'm the captain of the S.S. Nile, and I am about to talk to the Animal Control Center here and remove of this...thing immediatley!"
David grabbed the whimpering Jackson. "Jackson wouldn't ever attack a person!"
Tom had a demonic furious look in his eyes, as he began rolling up his sleeve. "Yeah?!? Well, I'm about to teach you AND your dog a lesson."
Davids face turned to stone. "Don't you lay a FINGER on my dog-"
"Stop!" Alyson yelled, pushing the men apart. Turning to Tom, she commanded, "LISTEN. I speak Canine. He didn't attack Adira, he was attacking the SNAKE, because he thought it was going to attack Adira!"
Tom still looked furious, but he eyed Alyson menacingly. "You're lying."
Alyson matched his eye level. "Am I?"
Tom paused for what seemed like an hour to David, but backed away. David turned apoligetically to Haley, saying, "Sorry we caused trouble." To Liam, he held out his arm for the lemur to perch on it, calling to him.

At Jackson's words, Liam spied the snake, and leaped up high onto the rafters of the high roof. There was a little straw there; he wondered if it had once been a barn. He stayed there, his tail quivering as he watched the man attack Jackson. Suddenly, he felt a strange instinct, nearly maternal, and he leaped down onto Tom's head. "Gahhhh!" he shouted. "No kill Jackson! No kill no kill no kill!" he cried. He ignored David's call.

Haley clasped her hands to her chest, and ran from side to side, following the action, and trying to do something helpful, but failing. "Um, sir, all animals are allowed in here," she said to Tom. Her eyes followed David. "Don't go!" she exclaimed. What an awful day for business! "It's no problem!" It was nice to have a little excitement in her day.

Jackson tilted his head in confusion at Liam protecting him.
"Aroo?" he woofed, which roughly translates as, "What the heck?"
David looked back. "You sure?"

[Lia]

Looking down at Jackson, Liam roughly placed a paw over the dog's eyes. "Don't look!" he screeched. "There's a snake!" He let out a lemur-laugh.

"Of course it is," Haley assured, although her tone was slightly doubtful as she looked at Liam. She didn't mind the dog at all, but the lemur was starting to bother her. It was slightly... hyper... which was probably thanks to her coffee, but still bothered her slightly.

David looked at Liam, and knowing why Haley had a skeptical look, shrugged.
Jackson growled playfully at Liam, grinning. To humans, this looked as if he was baring his teeth.

Tom had a demonic look on his face, still infuriated. Going back to his seat, he muttered things like, "I'll get that dog put down..."
Once to his seat, he angrily gripped the arm rests, yelling to Billy, "Where's that coffee that I ordered???"

Alina came shyly into the Starbucks, her eyes completely drained of the fire they once had. She had only joined Elsewhere a few days ago, and this was the first time she spent somewhere else other than the OD'S....

[Lia]

Liam leaped into the air, off Jackson. "Ahh! Scary dog scary dog scary dog!" he chattered, racing around Jackson in circles again. He hissed like a cat at Tom.

Haley smiled awkwardly at David. "I mean, the monkey-thing is a little scary, but your dog's just a big sweetie!" She extended her paw gently to Jackson, to see if he would let her pet him, but then she spied Alina. "Hi!" she shouted, leaping up and straightening her green Starbucks apron. She glided over to Alina, almost tripping over a dropped straw wrapper, and smiled tentatively. "I haven't met you!" she exclaimed. "You must be new. I'm Haley, and I run this Starbucks! Welcome!"

Muttering something about ambitious animals and horrendous humans, Fabian rose to his feet and slowly loped out the door, eyeing Alina as he pushed past.
