Mikoto froze again, his eyes widening, as his light faded to a practically invisible darkness. "There is something there!" he whispered pointing lightly towards the ground where he had spotted movement again. He couldn't figure out if it was a rat, badger or something else, but there was definately movement. He fluttered closer to the lemur, his expression no longer bored, but now serious. He couldn't think of anything else to say, so he flashed a few times ((oh my)), flitting out a few feet to the east, away from the tree. He was hoping to either distract what was down there, or get a better view to see what was down there.

The worm slithered along some more, until he found that the ground underneath him was no longer bark and leaves and grass, but soft lemur fur.

Kitsuke's soft, wide, dinner-plate eyes followed the firefly--er, fairy-- for a moment, but she lost interest. The lemur was the priority. All she'd had in the past week was... well, practically nothing. And he little pups were suffering for it. She crouched lower to the ground and stared up at the lemur's tail. It was just within reach, but it would be a gamble to try to catch the lemur now. She'd need it to come to her level. The clever Fossa let out an indistinct trill, one no normal creature could identify as a Fossa's sound, and then a second. Then she drew back into the brush. That fairy was trying to shed light on her, and that would blow her cover.

Mikoto flinched when a noise came from the ground below, though he didn't know what it was. When he saw movement back away where he couldn't see it, he huffed. His light completely disappeared, and he edged towards whatever was moving carefully. He was hoping it wouldn't hear his small wings flapping nearby. It didn't seem that the lemur and Fairy were going to listen to him, so he was just going to have to figure out what it was on his own. He narrowed his eyes in the darkness, though he couldn't see a thing through the black. "Who's there?" he asked quietly, hoping that whatever it was wouldn't eat him.

Kitsuke didn't reply. She wasn't sure if she should. Maybe she could fool them all into thinking that she was friendly, then get close enough to the lemur to break its neck. But then again, they could be very clever creatures, and then she'd fetch nothing, neither for she nor her cubs. She let out another indistinct trill, tossing a rock across the clearing to make the bursh rustle on the other side.

The worm reared its small, pointed pink head, and opened its mouth ((they have mouths, right?)). "Excuse me," he called, his voice very weak and croaky, as if he had the worst cold going - that's what eating soil did to your throat. "I was wondering...as I'm blind, being a worm and all, do you chaps happen to know which direction I am crawling in?"

Mikoto flinched when he heard the noise again, then a rustling coming from another direction. He gasped, backing up a few inches. Were there two of them, or was it moving that quickly? Suddenly he heard another voice coming from down below him. His light flickered brighter so he could see that it was a worm... asking which direction he was going. Though he was still nervous as to what else was down on the ground, he glanced at the sky, trying to spot the right star to tell him which direction the worm was going. "Uhh... east-ish, if that's what you want to know," he uttered, slightly annoyed. He was still unsure of what was down there, but he assumed that maybe if he distracted himself he would quit worrying so much.
((ooc:// Wow serious writer's block. I rambled.))

Oh, great Baobab! Kitsuke moaned inwardly, A worm now? A worm is talking? This is crazy alley. Kitsuke made the chirping sound, and she tossed another rock.

"oh, right," said the worm..."well, that's the wrong direction..." he flinched at the sound. "Is there some kin dof predator in the bushes?" he asked, a little scared, "does it eat worms?"

Mikoto blinked when the worm asked if there was a preditor in the bushes. "I don't know," he said coldly, glancing nervously into the dark. "That's what I've been trying to figure out while those two-" he nodded towards the the other two, "-Gossip about the going ons of a party." He finished his sentence sourly, annoyed that they didn't care if they were about to be eaten.
