IMAGE DESCRIPTION (in case you need help with a theme): A thick, dimly lit forest, illuminated by the moon, casting a purple glow over the lake as fireflies wind between fronds of ferns and the underbrush. Or are they really fireflies...? You decide.

ooc:// Ooh! Exciting!!! *gulps* YES, I ISH FIRST!
ic:// Pausing to sniff the air, a tall and lean lemur made his way down the slope. The soft fronds of fern grazed his sides, and he shivered. Although he was agile and speedy, the cool night air had a mysterious glow to it, and he suddenly felt nervous. His long black and white striped tail flicked behind him, making a thumping noise. He darted forward. alarmed, thinking that the thump was the sound of another animal hunting around. Stealthily, he poked his nose through the trees, and saw the mysterious clearing in front of him. Pricks of light were dancing around, and the moon cast a silvery aura around the place.

There was a light thump, Ketsuke heard, and the Fossa raised her head. The scent of her familiar forest came sooner than other scents. It could be a fallen fruit as easily as it could be a lemur. Now that she mentioned the name of lemur, her stomach growled, and she scented the air more closely. Indeed, a lemur was present, by her under-brush nest. The Fossa looked down at the three cubs that suckled from her, and she released a quiet sigh. Indeed, nighttime was a dangerous time to leave her cubs, but it was also during the nighttime that she would have the best chance of surprising this new lemur. She slowly rose, forcing the cubs to lose their grip on her, and she moved over their heads towards the exit of the nest. She left her squeaking, squealing cubs in the darkness of the den, stepping into the moonlight. It washed over her dusty gray black-dappled fur, and into her eyes, which then began to glow. She peered around, in the trees, on the ground, between th fronds of fern, still uneasy and close to her complaining children.

ooc:// Awww:) It's cute! Um... name... name... name... Liam! Liam the lemur!
ic:// Liam thought he had heard a slight squeaking, and he froze. A slight wind rustled through the leaves and he let out a grunt of annoyance as it ruffled his fur the wrong way and made him feel cold. Seeing nothing ahead in the clearing, Liam crept forward. He had heard a rumor that another animal was going to be here tonight, hosting the grandest party of the year. All of a sudden, his feeling of unease slipped away, and he darted forward quickly. He ran a big circle around the clearing, checking the bushes to see if anyone was there. He looked at the moon. Full, yes, the party was definitely supposed to be tonight. But where was everyone?

A firefly danced along in the shadowy darkness of the night, illuminating a little happiness into everything she saw. Everyone who happened to be lucky to be paid a visit by the firefly Fairy always found comfort in her light, and she guided those who couldn't see well in the dark to where they needed to be. Fairy stopped at the pond, illuminating a little blink of light as she looked at her reflection, making sure she looked alright. I don't know why you don't have a boyfriend, Fairy. she thought to herself. You're the prettiest thing in the world...at night, that is. You're practically the sun! She made a scowl at the mention of the sun; she was jealous of the large, round object in the sky that made grass grow, gave people warmth...why couldn't she do that? She blinked repeatedly when she saw a lemur run through the clearing. I wonder what he could be doing... "Excuse me, good sir!" she said in her high pitched squeaky voice, practically inaudible. "What are you doing?"

ic:// Liam leaped up into the air in alarm. "Er, good mor--evening, miss..." He turned around in a circle, trying to see who he was talking to. "Where's the party?"

Fairy looked at Liam, blinking rapidly to show who was talking to him. "There's a party...AND I'M NOT INVITED?!?!?" she screamed, and her flash of light turned a fiery red in anger. "How dare they? I'm the prettiest, most bright firefly there is around here!"

A small bright flashing firefly glanced over his shoulder and noticed Fairy shouting at another creature- a lemur, he supposed. Mikoto sighed, his light dimming, as he fluttered gracefully over to the two of them arguing, making sure to make a large circle around the squealing cubs... He wasn't sure if they were hungry or bored, or in the mood to smack at the little lights flying around. He finally came up behind Fairy. "What's the yelling about now?" he asked groggily, not terribly interested.

"Shh-shhh-shh!" Liam murmured. "I'm not invited either-not invited-not invited." He kept spinning in circles, trying to see the creature he was talking too. He noticed a flash of red, and jumped. "Maddamaddamaddad," he shrieked. "Fire fairy fly-fly-fly?"

Fairy sighed. "Oh, it's just you, Mikoto." she said, her light returning to normal color in greeting. "Well, there's some party, and I wasn't invited. It's obviously some crazy lemur thing." She flitted her light in annoyance. "Don't know why anyone would want to party tonight." she mumbled. Shivering in fear, she added, "I saw the fossa around tonight."

Kitsuke's large triangle-shaped ears pricked forwards, and she listened closely to the high, quiet voices. She heard a lemur-- for, yes, a lemur's vocie was unmistakable-- and two other voices, quiet as whispers, alive with unqiueness. Kitsuke crouched and prowled towards to floating fireflies, away from the rest, and she narrowed her glowing eyes, examining them. Oh, the voices came from them?

Mikoto let out an annoyed sigh as he turned his back on Fairy. Her emotions were running amuck again and all about a simple party that may or may not even exsist, since apparently it was supposed to be here. He blinked quickly as he saw a slight movement in front of him. His light dimmed slightly in caution, as he tried to see what it was, but it was too dark to see. "Fairy... and you, Lemur... there's something moving right there..." he whispered quietly, his eyes still scanning the dark area carefully.

A worm wriggled blindly over the soft, moist earth. A vibartion caused him to pause, and scent the air. There was a hint of Lemur about, and fireflies, too. No worm-predators that he could detect. He continued wriggling onwards, feeling the light change and illuminate his back as her wrigged into the orb of firefly light.

Kitsuke narrowed her moon-shaped eyes, withdrawing into the shadows. Those weren't fireflies. They were fairies. Real, true fairies. Her mother had told her they were myths, but now she was seeing them for herself. She glanced over her shoulder at the practically unseeable den, making sure that her crying pups were still there, and then she began to creep along a circular path around the clearing, peering through the fronds to see every angle of the creatures. Kitsuke's eyes were amazed. A lemur, so close to the ground? It was strange, and unusual. And fairies. Hm. Kitsuke licked her chops, but she didn't smack them shut like she usually would. Such a sound would alert her prey. The fairies weren't a priority. Unless her pups wanted them. Then she'd be sure to catch one. But the lemur looked young and strong. It would have lean, filling meat on its bones, and plenty of meat, at that. Finally Kitsuke was near the tree where the lemur and its friends were, and she edged out of the bushes. However, she froze and sniffed the air.
