"But it was so obvious!" groaned Ellie, resigned to her fate by now. She was obviously in the elevator with Benjamin as a present from Karma - not that she could recall doing anything THIS bad recently.

"And who's fault will that be?" muttered Ellie. Okay, so he was obviously sorry, and trying to make her feel better, but swimming...seriously?! He was so darn annoying and it really wasn't helping that he was dripping all over her already waterlogged books.

"I didn't say anything," lied Ellie, pulling the plastic carrier bag over her wet books - as if that would help, the water was underneath as well as on top of them.
She straightened up, too, and stood, holding one arm with the opposite hand, just above the elbow. She looked around for a trap door or some form of escape, but it turned out that elevators in eral life weren't like the ones in movies.

All of a sudden, there was a gurgling noise, and the water begun draining out of the elevator. "That wasn't creepy at all," Benjamin commented.

Ellie looked at the small grate that the water had drained out of. She ran her fingers over the seams - there was no escape through there, either.

"Can you pull it out?" Benjamin dropped the bag with a thud, and it burst open, spilling hundred dollar notes all over the ground. He gasped; there had to be millions of thousand dollars in there!

"What...did you...did you, like, rob a bank, or something?" she gasped, shaking notes off of her mock-leather clad toe.

Benjamin gulped like a fish for a moment. "The-- the bag is not mine..." he stuttered. "I saw a girl drop the purse, and I was going to give it back." He picked up a note, and held it up to the dim light. "Is this real?"

"I..." Benjamin thought for a moment. "Don't know." If he were a girl, he thought, he might have been able to tell if she were wearing designer clothes. "She was wearing all black... like a goth... but her hair was out, I think it was blond..." This was exemplifying his very bad memory, and he felt a little embarrassed.
